JFK once said "Efforts and courage are not enough without purpose and direction" and I have to agree with him. When I returned to McDaniel College after an amazing semester in Paris I knew I had changed. Sure, I would always be a girl who loved Boston Sports, Cape Cod, Old Bay, and Baltimore's Inner Harbor but my outlook on things had undeniably shifted. McDaniel is a hidden gem and I am so lucky to have attended it for four years. Without the guidance of my fabulous advisors and mentors I would not have had to foundation and support to feel truly confident in moving to France.
It would be a lie to say that I was not scared to move to Dijon but I knew that moving here was for a purpose. By living and working in France I am not only accomplishing a personal dream, but setting a new foundation for my future. My personal passion may be France and French culture but I truly want to travel all over the world and to have a career in a field that advocates for the importance of studying, sharing, and exploring different cultures.

Diana,
ReplyDeleteHello! I just found your blog as a soon to be TAPIF-er. I'd love to ask you a few questions regarding housing in Dijon, and more about your homestay!
I will be teaching in Montceau-les-Mines (in the Burgundy region, southwest of Dijon) but after some consideration I'm looking into living in Dijon and commuting from the city. My email is mlchild4@gmail.com. I would love to hear from you! Thank you so much!
